Secrets Are Out [for Dom / Letty]
Takes place after this.
Dom coming up to San Francisco for her race against the Vegas boys that had come into town had been a fantastic addition. Not only did he get the chance to experience the races in her city but he'd also had the chance to meet the rest of her family. And any nervousness she might've felt about him meeting them was unwarranted because naturally, they'd gotten along just fine.
It helped that Austin, Blake and herself had spoken highly about him and his family.
As anticipated, the race against the boys from Vegas had been as easy as she expected and she'd walked away with the pink slips of her new Mustang. Much to the chagrin of the guy she'd won them off of. Why he wanted a car detailed with pink was anyone's guess but what she was running under the hood was likely worth the paint job.
Her previous races with and against Dom had probably helped. Something even Don and Ricky had mentioned and seemed proud to see.
True to his word, Dom had driven the car back to Don's and after some deliberation, she'd decided it was likely worth having a car to use in Los Angeles. Considering her relationship with Dom and how quickly she could get a flight to and from LA from San Francisco, it was worth having a car there without spending hours on the road.
She took a few days off early the next week and decided to drive back with Dom.
This is how she found herself in his bed early Monday morning and being woken up by the sound of doors slamming downstairs and yelling for Mia.
Les had felt him leave with a kiss on her forehead but hadn't thought too much of it. She was used to it over the years - the guys had done it often enough when they went out to help with the neighborhoods during any unwanted gang activity.
So the yelling and the doors slamming had her wide awake within seconds and jumping out of bed, wearing a pair of boxers and a tank top.
"What's going on," she asked, rushing down the stairs, seconds after Mia. "Who's hurt?"

Not that any of it is on Letty's mind when she comes storming into the house for Mia. Timing is everything and they're about to blow it all.
"... he's going to be fine. The car is fucked but he couldn't have avoided it. Bastard thought he knew what he was doing, all flash and no fucking idea but he's going to be okay. Dom made sure he got to the hospital but told me to..."
She stops, looking up at Les standing there. Some of the color drains from Letty's face.
"Jesse got sideswiped. He's going to be okay." Because that answered everything, right? "Probably going to be stuck in the hospital overnight but his sister's on the way. Look, I've got to go. Mia, are you coming? We need another driver."

"I'll go. Let me put jeans and shoes on and I'll go," Les says, with absolutely no hesitation at all in her voice. What they were up to that caused Jesse to make a reckless decision she wasn't sure but she would be there. She was just glad Jesse was going to be okay.
It took her hardly five minutes for her to slip on a pair of jeans, and shoes and toss her hair in a ponytail before she was back standing in front of Letty.
"Let's go. Am I following you?"
no subject
She gave Mia a sharp look, eyes widening, saying a dozen things without a single word in that look.
When she comes back from changing, they're whispering between them and while their voices are very soft, it's not a friendly whisper. Letty looks up at Les.
"I... Dom won't... Fuck it. You wanna go, let's go. Yeah, follow me."
She shakes her head, knowing this is going to go so bad.

"Then Dom can tell me to my face after whatever it is is done," she said simply, not at all bothered if Dom will be upset. They needed another driver and Mia couldn't go. She was a decent driver if she did say so herself.
"You guys be careful," Mia tells them, her arms folded in front of her, and pointedly looks at Letty before giving Les a smile. She would really like to hear that conversation before or after the job was done and how Les stood up to Dom. And she didn't have a doubt she would, considering how she grew up.
Les nods with a little smile before following Letty out of the house, the keys to the Mustang in her hand.

"Look, stay close. We're going to trade off cars so I'm taking you there. Dom's not going to be happy and he's going to tell you no and say we'll do the job short a man. Don't let that happen, okay?"
She didn't want Dom to lose Les. She also didn't want to die doing this shit.
In honor of today's sightings... Letty gets a Les!
She nods and looks at Letty. "I don't plan on letting him say no. Having the right amount of drivers seems important and no one needs to take any additional risks because someone is over compensating for a missed driver."
Les only hoped she wouldn't lose Dom in all of this.
Yay for a Les. Always a Les.
"Okay. Just... Here's the thing. This isn't legal, okay? It's dangerous and it's a felony sentence if you're caught. Could be worse than that but I don't know. If you back out now, cool. No hard feelings. I won't have you going in without knowing the risks."
<3
"We better not get caught then. I can't imagine having to call up Austin or god forbid, Don and have them bail my ass out for a second time." She pauses. "Thanks for the warning though and for giving me the heads up."
Because Letty didn't have to and she knew that. She didn't want there to be any shit feelings between her and the other woman who Dom loved.

She sighs, getting in her car and heading out. She doesn't wait on Les, expecting her to keep up as she heads through the city and to the tower where the cars are hidden. Weaving in and out of traffic, already late and it shows.
Of course, as they pull out, Dom moves away from the others, takes one look at the two cars and his expression darkens.
"No!"
no subject
She parks behind Letty and steps out just in time to hear Dom's word.
"Dom," she says, her tone firm as she walks straight up to him. "You need another driver and Mia has a test later this morning. I can do it," she says, meeting his gaze with hers.
"This aint some fun race against some boy from the neighborhood," Vince says, walking up to them and looks between them.
She doesn't even spare Vince a look as she keeps her focus on Dom. "I don't give a fuck. We've gotten into bullshit back home as well. It's not all sunshine and roses where I'm from. Maybe not whatever the fuck this is but I know a job when I see it. So, tell me what to do - except leave - and I'll do it."
no subject
But that's the thing. He never had thought about what he was going to do about their side work. Even as they got closer and more intertwined, he just kind of ignored it all. Pretended he wouldn't have to tell her.
"I didn't want you to know about this. You can't turn back here. You can't tell your boys. This isn't part of your life," he said, meaning it. He hadn't meant for this to ever be part of her life. "We can handle it with three. Go home."
"If she goes home, I go home," Letty says softly.
His head snaps up, eyes widening. "Letty..."
no subject
She understood and respected that he didn't want to get her involved in this side of his life. It wasn't any less than the other guys tried to do for her.
"I won't tell the guys. The fact is, you're a man down and that can cause stupid mistakes to happen for overcompensating for that missing piece. So let me help. I don't know what your timeline is but considering the rush it took to get here, let's do it and you can be upset with me later."
Les folds her arms and glances at Vince for any smartass remarks and watches as he throws his hands up.
no subject
He knows Vince isn't stepping in. He won't agree because Dom's pissed, but he won't say they don't need her because they both know the truth. They need her. Fuck but they need her.
"Get her a damn earpiece and I swear to God we're having a talk after this. Do what I say. Never questions. Just do it. I won't put you in a place you can't handle, but you have to act when I say it. Got it?"
no subject
She watched him close, knowing he was pissed but she would be damned if she left here without helping in some way. It wasn't like she was entirely green when it came to cars and if that's what they were working with, she'd be just fine. She hoped.
When he finally relented, she nodded. "Ten-four," she says and watches as Vince goes to grab her an earpiece then hands it over. She takes it from him and puts it in. She may have a ton of sarcastic and smartass remarks but she knew when to be serious and this here? Was not the time for any of that. "Tell me what I need to do."

"You'll be riding diversion with Letty. There'll be three of us, all in the same cars, all with the same lights. The lights are a distraction, same with the car. We don't want them know who is where or when. So you and Letty will be switching back and forth, kind of like trick drivers. I'll move around you until we're close enough for Vince to launch the grapple and get onboard. We knock out the driver and take the truck to the delivery spot down the freeway. We have someone that will come and take the trailer. The driver will wake up pissed and without a load but all good."
He watches her the whole time he explains what he has to.
"Later we'll talk about the rest."
He has no choice. He looks to Letty. "With you and Mia too."
Letty snorted, rolling her eyes. "Take it up with Mia."
"Trust me. I will."
no subject
Not here at least.
Later, once it was all said and done? Sure.
She listened to him as he described what they'd be doing and nodded. "Got it," she said, not glancing at Letty though. They would need to be in tune with each other's actions because switching a little faster than the other can cause more damage than they want.
"Later we can have the family meeting to discuss what I shouldn't have found out but for now, I assume we need to get a move on?"
Vince tosses her a set of keys to one of the cars before looking at Dom. It was his call.
